The Town of Silt Recreation offers a wide variety of youth sports programs, throughout the year, for children ages 4–13. Our programs are designed to teach fundamental skills, encourage teamwork and sportsmanship, promote healthy lifestyles, and provide a fun, positive environment for athletes of all skill levels. Whether your child is picking up a ball for the first time or continuing to develop their abilities, there's a place for them in Silt Recreation! ⚽ Micro Soccer (Ages 4–7)Micro Soccer introduces young players to the game through age-appropriate instruction, fun drills, and small-sided games. Players learn dribbling, passing, shooting, teamwork, and basic game rules while building confidence and having fun. This program is divided into U6 and U8 age groups. 🏈 Flag Football (4th–6th Grade)Flag Football provides an exciting, non-contact introduction to football. Players learn passing, receiving, running, defensive positioning, and teamwork while competing in a fun, safe environment that emphasizes sportsmanship and skill development. 🏐 Girls Volleyball (3rd–6th Grade)Girls Volleyball teaches the fundamentals of serving, passing, setting, hitting, and court positioning. Players develop individual skills while learning teamwork and game strategy through practices and games. 🏀 Lil' Dribblers Basketball (Kindergarten–2nd Grade)Designed for our youngest basketball players, Lil' Dribblers introduces the basic skills of dribbling, passing, shooting, and teamwork. Practices focus on learning the game through fun drills and activities that build confidence and coordination. 🏀 Girls Basketball (3rd–6th Grade)Girls Basketball emphasizes skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and game fundamentals. Players improve their ball handling, passing, shooting, defense, and overall understanding of the game while participating in practices and league play. 🏀 Boys Basketball (3rd–6th Grade)Boys Basketball offers players the opportunity to develop fundamental basketball skills while learning teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. Participants practice regularly and play in organized league games. ⚾ T-Ball (Ages 4–6)T-Ball is the perfect introduction to baseball for young athletes. Players learn throwing, catching, hitting from a tee, running the bases, and fielding while developing confidence and enjoying the game in a supportive environment. ⚾ Coach Pitch Baseball (Ages 7–8)Coach Pitch serves as the next step after T-Ball by introducing live hitting from a coach. Players continue developing hitting, fielding, throwing, base running, and game awareness while preparing for player-pitch baseball. ⚾ 8–10 BaseballThis league builds upon fundamental baseball skills while introducing more advanced game concepts. Players participate in practices and competitive games designed to improve hitting, pitching, fielding, base running, and teamwork. 🥎 8–10 SoftballThe 8–10 Softball program helps young athletes strengthen their softball fundamentals, including throwing, fielding, hitting, pitching, and base running. The league promotes skill development, confidence, teamwork, and sportsmanship. ⚾ 11–13 BaseballOur oldest baseball division provides players with an opportunity to continue developing advanced baseball skills in a competitive and enjoyable environment. Athletes refine their hitting, pitching, defensive play, and baseball knowledge while emphasizing teamwork and character. 🥎 11–13 SoftballThe 11–13 Softball program offers players continued instruction in advanced softball fundamentals, strategy, and game play. Participants develop their skills while competing in organized games that foster confidence, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship. Volunteer Coaches NeededOur youth sports programs rely on dedicated volunteer coaches who help create positive experiences for our young athletes. No prior coaching experience is required; just enthusiasm, patience, and a desire to make a difference in the lives of local children. Coaching resources and support are provided.
