Sex Offenders

The Silt Police Department provides the following information in order to enhance public awareness and safety so that you may better protect your family and yourself. The sex offender registry includes only those persons who have been required by law to register. Be aware that their are those required to register that may not be compliant with their duties. You should not rely solely on the sex offender registry as a safeguard against perpetrators or sexual assault in our community. There is no substitute for common sense and safety precautions.

The crime for which a person has been convicted may not accurately reflect the level of risk posed by the sex offender to the community. The information provided on this site is only for sex offenders who meet the guidelines of Colorado Revised Statutes.

Colorado Bureau of Investigations which maintains the Colorado registry, does not post information concerning sex offenders convicted of misdemeanor sex offenses or information on juveniles. Information about these individuals, should they be present in the community, is only available in person at the Silt Police Department during business hours.

If you wish to obtain a listing of the registered sex offenders in the Town of Silt you may come in during normal buisness hours Monday-Friday 9 am to 5 pm and speak to the records clerk in the Silt Police Department.

For more information on Sex Offenders and Sex Offender Registration, the Center for Sex Offender Managementhttp://csom.org/about/about.html which is a project through the U.S. Department of Justice has a tremendous amount of information available through their website.
